mommy: what do you see out the window?
{c}: snow. but it looks like a hundred white feathers falling off 3,000 birds.

and all of this at the end of March. who would have thought??

budding scientist?

{c} took part in his school's science fair this year. He tried to grow a stalagmite from baking soda and water. It didn't work..........but he had fun anyway, and he got a ribbon. (And I had fun taking photos!!)

all set to start growing!

the display (i think this is the only year I can help...) ;)

so proud! (and giggly)

he said they look like snowflakes. yep, I'd agree! :)
My baby will turn 4 in a few weeks. 4. I just can't wrap my mind around it. He is our little music man....always singing, dancing (he walks in circles), and listening to his music cds. One of them is his Thank You Bible, which has songs and verses. One night he brought the book down to daddy, and proceeded to read all the words on the first two pages (because he had memorized the song, but still! My heart was singing.....) His memorization skills are pretty amazing. (Can you sing the alphabet song backwards?? I can't.)

Love this one, love that he is so different then his brother. That he could care less about building Legos, but wants to play with Cars and build letters out of Magnetix pieces. That he still loves his papis and ball and "Harold and the Purple Crayon" stories. That he is still carrying a toy in his hand at all times...... and he calls me into his room when he spells new words. Important words, like breakfast (because this one can eat!!)

My firstborn son has entered a new stage in his life-----that of organized sports. T-ball season is here, and his daddy is one of the assistant coaches. I just can't believe how giddy it makes me seeing him out there on the field, with a huge smile on his face, all decked out in his uniform and cleats, catching and throwing and running (and falling!) Needless to say, it is all good.

...now if I can just get him to keep his tongue in his mouth when he is running!
the annual coloring of the eggs......

Easter

I am seriously lacking in Easter photos this year. I didn't get any of the boys dressed up, mostly because our church had a "family Easter service" the night before Easter which was not a huge dress up event. And since I can't dress a little girl up in a sweet hat and patent leather shoes and matching purse I decided just to put the boys in nice polos and call it a day. ;)

We spent a quiet Easter at home (with just one or two minor cooking mishaps.) I really don't enjoy cooking, but then most of you know that. It makes me appreciate all the time my mom spent in the kitchen preparing holiday meals all by herself. I don't think she enjoyed it either. Her meals turned out much better then mine. Maybe I just need more practice. It didn't matter much, because the boys only ate rolls and jello anyway.

So here are a few photos, some from the Easter egg hunt at church, and some from Easter morning. And notice I didn't take any of Easter dinner. ;)

Tell me that this really doesn't happen.....

Thursday, March 6

I took the boys to a Washington photographer meet-up at a local park. This group was a mix of professional and hobbyist mom-photogs (6 of us) and our 9 kids. We spent some time practicing our photography on other kids. It was busy but so fun!! One of the photographers, Angela, posted some of the photos on her blog, and I am going to link it so you can see some of us. :) *****click here*****

I hope to get some processed and up for viewing. What a great group of gals. I am sure going to learn tons from them! And (bonus!) we are all going to a photography workshop this Sunday, so we can talk shop without the kiddo interruption.
